Source standards
How we choose sources
Senior Support Finder is a signposting service. We aim to point visitors towards official and recognised sources, then explain the next step in plain English.
Council and Local Authority Pages
For local support, we prefer official council or local authority pages because eligibility, assessment routes and contact processes vary by area.
GOV.UK and Public Services
For national benefits, Blue Badge routes and government guidance, we link to GOV.UK or other public service pages where available.
Recognised Charities
For community support, advice and local branches, we use recognised charities such as Age UK where they provide relevant local information.
Review-Ready Local Pages
We do not publish every spreadsheet entry automatically. Local pages must have a recent review date, working official links, visible source labels and a local guidance overlay before they are included in public directories or the sitemap.
How AI Is Used
AI may help draft plain-English summaries from structured local data, but drafts are not treated as final source material. Published pages should remain grounded in official council, GOV.UK, NHS where relevant, and recognised charity sources rather than invented eligibility guidance.
Editorial Limits
We summarise what a support route is for, what visitors may want to prepare, and where to check next. We do not copy official pages, decide eligibility, provide legal or financial advice, or replace regulated care, medical or benefits advice.
Correction and Contact Route
If a visitor spots an outdated link, unclear summary or missing source, they can use the contact page or report link on a local page. Corrections are prioritised when they affect official application routes, safety, access or eligibility checks.
Freshness and Limits
Links and schemes can change. We show reviewed dates on published local pages and avoid using build dates as freshness signals. Visitors should always confirm current rules on the official source before applying.
Our Approach
We summarise rather than copy. We do not decide eligibility, and we do not replace professional or official advice.
